With days passing by, many things happening in our life... Little do we wonder, the little things in life are the ones that impacts us the most! Sports, to some, it is a just a form of entertainment. There are some people who relate sports to gambling. Established as a way to ensure active lifestyle for the public, now it is deemed as a way to increase our pockets! Gone are those days, where the passion were running for someone to win a tournament. Those days, whenever someone utters Mokhtar Dahari, they would relate him as the person who scored goals for fun and silenced established oppositions like England and Arsenal. Now, what we hear people criticising the current state of sports in our country and do nothing about it!
However, for the past few days, we are seeing a wave of optimism among our people. All of a sudden we are seeing people thronging mamak restaurents or cafes to watch the Thomas Cup and The Sultan Azlan Shah which is going on. When Malaysia faced Japan during the Thomas Cup, many criticse the inability of certain players to conjure points for our country. All of them criticised in unison! Though it can be detrimental towards the athletes but we could see that our people care about our nations progress in sports. After the defeat, Malaysia bounced back by defeating tricky opponents, Denmark and the performance of Hafiz Hashim certainly united the nation. The success of our hockey team in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup has also gained widespread praises and many feel that the successes of these athletes can certainly heed the call of 1 Malaysia.
Implemented By Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak, our premier has gone great lengths to promote the call of 1 Malaysia. The introduction of 1 Malaysia was one of his efforts. Some applauded it but to me it's just a waste of money. F1 is a different ball game. Unity does not play a heavy role in this sport. All that matters in this sport is money and the personality of the drivers. Maybe he had the intention by taking a different approach but Mr. Najib, it will never work. You will hear this one issue from the policymakers...You are wasting taxpayers money! Effort there but criticism rears it's ugly head. He should have gone for a core approach by implementing the concept to core sports like football, hockey, squash and badminton.
From these two tournaments, it certainly showed the 1 Malaysia spirit among our people. There is no need for money to get this. It's all in the patriotism and passion shown towards our county. We can see people from various backgrounds united in supporting our national squad. Many would argue that Malaysians are leaning towards globalisation by supporting international based teams. This can be seen when Manchester United faced Malaysia, Malaysian Based Manchester United fans usurped the attendance of Malaysian National Team football fans. However, this is all bound to change.
This can be seen by the response of people based on our Thomas Cup performances, Azlan Shah Cup heroics and the indomitable form of our national football team during the SEA games. We can see the wave of changes produced by our national athletes. Certainly, we can see the 1 Malaysia spirit shown by athletes and fans alike. Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans and Kadazans are united through means of sports. Politics are just a menacing process which promises harmony but ends up being detrimental.
Sports certainly provides us with many avenues to achieve in life. Malaysians realise that sports have the tendency to unite in moments of sorrowfulness or happiness. Many countries have used sport as a form of unity. Countries such as Cote D'Ivoire, Congo Republic and Czech Republic have used sports as mean of uniting their people. Malaysia is following suit and it is certainly reaping rewards at the right time. Leaders might have other perception on sports but to people, sports is one thing that will never fade away in our lives. For better or worse, it will remain in our hearts.
The rise of these athletes is a certainly an encouraging prospect for our nation. Sports certainly unites every everyone regardless of colours or backgrounds. To achieve 1 Malaysia, sports should be the made the core of its development. Who needs an F1 team when we have our local athletes shedding sweat and tears for our country!

A wishlist to the Prime Minister.....
It's been 52 years since our country for has achieved independence. In these 52 years, we have seen lots of developments in our country. People ranging from the malays to the ibans have lived in harmony for many years. We have been the envy of many nations as our people, ranging from different religions and cultures are able to live together without any fuss. However, in recent years, we can seen an air of discontent within our people.
25 November 2007, a day to remember for many Malaysians. The protest held by the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) was a wakeup call to many. This protest certainly faced highlighted the plight faced by the Indian community in Malaysia. As a student, i'm happy to be a Malaysian but based on recent issues most notably the Kampung Buah Pala issue has made me realise that life can be really cruel!
Every kid in this world would have a wish list. Some may grant that wish list but some may not. As a loyal citizen of Malaysia, i, Avineshwaran have a wish list to our beloved Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak. It would be appreciated if he grant those wishes. He could be the 'Genie' that we are looking for! The Indian community has certainly contributed for our country in many ways.From sports to business; we have seen people like Ananda Krishnan to S.Kuhan putting us in the world map.
However, there are some who are being marginalised. As an Indian, we want our scholarships to be offered based on merit not on quota. The use of quota system has certainly deprived many deserving students from furthering their education to better institutions. One of my cousins hailing from a poor background scored 11 A's in his SPM but now he is doing his form 6. We certainly don't want to see this happening in the years to come.
We have seen Kampung Buah Pala vanished from our sights. Many of my relatives struggled and looking at their plight sadden me deeply. My next wish is for the government to protect indian based villages in our county. Kampung Buah Pala had a rich Indian culture and many people in Penang know the might of that place. Many states in Malaysia have Indian based villages and i just hope they would not face the plight that happened to the Kampung Buah Pala people.
The plight of tamil schools in our country should also be highlighted. My next wish is to improve the conditions of tamils schools. Tamil schools deserve this due to the fact that many students in this school excel in their UPSR examinations. They are able to study in desolate conditions and prove doubters wrong. Many have estimated the ability of Tamil school students. Students in this school have the potential to be world beaters! By improvising the conditions of tamil schools, the government would be able to spur these students to greater heights. Changing the school equipments and expanding the school buildings are the main essentials for these schools. Thus, by doing this. our country would be able to create good students in the years to come.
These are the wishes which are currently playing in my mind. I hope Dato Seri Najib would be able to highlight these issues and make it a point to improve the situation. Many Indians are currently confident with the current leadership of Malaysia. The implementation of the 1 Malaysia is certainly an eye opener for many of our Malaysians. I just hope that the current administration would make steps to improve the conditions of the Indian community. This is one way to appreciate the efforts put in by Malaysian Indians for the past 52 years. I'm sure our forefathers would be glad to see this happening.

iHulu Selangor – Political Dumbness
Many would be laughing at the title above. For many, party embodies the democratic structure of a country. Asian countries have to the tendency to overlook the candidates and emphasize on a party strength. In this current era of globalization, individuality plays a key role in politics. Countries such as United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada and France tend to look at candidates strength rather than the popularity or the influence of a party. In these countries, we see parties shift in, shift out during major elections. Looking at this context, we can see the differences in development between Asia and western countries. Take Malaysia for example, we certainly see advancements in certain issues.
However, our political scene is currently at an appalling state. Who cares if it’s the ruling coalition or the opposition, the fact is that we are looking at a political situation which certainly needs colossal changes. The 2008 elections certainly portrayed a change to many people. Many felt with the uprising of Pakatan Rakyat, we would see a major uplift for the political situation in Malaysia. However, we are currently looking at Parties facing off each other with their very own personal agendas. Who is the victim here? The Malaysian citizens are at stake! The give promises during campaigns and claim that you would see wholesome changes. Moreover, when OBAMA-mania took over Malaysia, many politicians in Malaysia used his favourite tag line – CHANGE is coming! What do you we get now? A political laughing stock which is out of sorts! I wished we had a ‘Dr. Cal Lightman’ in Malaysia. Then we would be able to detect liars who are poisoning our political situation.
The main point of discussion is the Hulu Selangor by- Elections to be held on the 25th April 2010. Many analysts felt that from this election we would be able to gauge the current political state in Malaysia. Being PR’s fort, many wanted to see whether BN could break the stronghold established by PR. As you can see by the title, many are expecting that duel but I just can’t seem to agree on that fact. The candidates facing off in this election are well versed individuals with one agenda, RAKYAT first. P. Kamalanathan, the man tasked with bringing the gong back to BN. Dato Zaid Ibrahim, the man who wants to prove everyone wrong and prove himself to be a able MP.
These two candidates are the ones which I believe has the credentials to bring Hulu Selangor out of the doldrums. Kamalanathan and Zaid are two individuals who are well educated and have bags of ability to look after the welfare of the people. During the nomination day, when I saw these two candidates, one was the rookie while the other was the numero uno of politics. Both coalition parts certainly choose the right candidates and had one thing I set, conquer HULU SELANGOR! People in Hulu Selangor were certainly expecting a two way fight and were skeptical of the selections made by both parties.
Then, the campaigns started. From here, things started to go out of hand. Both parties brought in influential figures within the party itself to promote their candidates. Their task was to promote these candidates. Sad to say, we are seeing otherwise. Character attacks, smear campaigns and many other irrelevant issues are being raised during campaigns. We can see the personal attacks targeted at Zaid, the sodomy charges against Anwar, Samy Vellu’s stubbornness in moving away from his post and etc as a indicator of the ways of attracting voters. Politicians should realize one thing. As time goes by, people will change. We are not leaving in some ‘kunun’ era!
Based on the campaigns, BN is not promoting their candidate at all! All they do is criticize Anwar and undermine Zaid’s capabilities. When asked about Kamalanathan, they only utter a few words. Dato Isa Samad certainly showed his ability in criticizing the opposition party. To some, personal attacks may undermine a person’s confidence. However, these are just minor blips for some. Look Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton, Chua Soi Lek, Anwar Ibrahim, John Terry. They have bounced back from personal problems and get on to their respective lives. Personal are thing on the past. People are looking at the people’s ability to lead their respective constituents and do not care about the MP’s private affairs.
This election should be centered on these two candidates not on their parties. People are now having different perceptions on politics. They feel that the capabilities of candidates are the vital aspects in choosing them. The winner will be the one representing the people in the parliament. They will be the ones fighting for the constituents. Parties will make promises but the one who will be in charge of it is the Member of Parliament. People are realizing this very fact. With the booming impact of bloggers, people have many views on politics. Hulu Selangor might be a ‘ulu’ place thosen days but I’m sure now they have a different perception on things. There are many educated folks there. They know what is going on in our country and have the ability to voice their opinions.
Politicians might think that people are still vulnerable. Sorry to say this. We are changing folks! We are changing! Even the Kampung people are able to analyse the political situation in our country. Though we are still not on par with other developed countries on politics but we are seeing a wave of change.
Politicians in Malaysia should realize that the candidate is the one who determines a victory. The party just gives a added identity to the candidate which only helps in certain things. This is basically my current take on the political situation in Malaysia. The Hulu Selangor elections will certainly be an indicator on the current state of politics in Malaysia. We certainly want people around the world to take good note on our politics. Current circumstances certainly do not help strengthen the political state but with articles like this being circulated around, we might ‘mini’ shockwaves in our politics. We certainly want to see changes for the betterment of our ‘rakyat’!

Confessions of a changed dude…..
Songs can really impact your life. One very good example is Michael Jackson. He has enlightened many people’s hearts and penned songs that have impacted many lives. In my case, he has always been a source of inspiration to me. I don’t know what made me to write this, but sometimes loneliness can really make you do things that you don’t want to do. For the past few days, I’ve been blighted by this bout of loneliness. I just don’t know why? At times I feel abandoned even though I have friends and family behind my back. Why is this happening?
Songs such as Mazhaiye, Mazhaiye ( Rain, Rain ), en kadhal solla( I tell my love ), oru devathai( one angel ) and oru kal( one stone ) has deeply infected me with this sense of insecurity and loneliness. I try hard not to hear these songs, but my heart says LISTEN TO IT! I just can’t take the fact that I’m being influenced by songs which are meant for entertainment purposes only. This happens to me all the time!
A small part of my heart says I’m contented with life but there is a small part in my heart which is affecting me the most! Everyone seems to have this problem. That problem is hard to be abolished unless you find that special person. That is LOVE. Some people might say Love is complicated and never to be trusted at all cost. In my family life, I’m pretty contented with my parents and my brother. They are showering me with lots of love and they are the ones who sculptured me.
However, I’ve always had this intention of having a life partner and sharing all my stuffs with that particular person. For the past few days, I have been bothered by thoughts of this person. The more I communicate with that person, the more feelings I develop towards that person. I just can’t stand the fact that I have to keep that feelings to myself and not tell it to her. This has been happening to me for the past few weeks. The moment I went berserk was when she showed a video of a guy confessing to a girl. At that point, I seriously felt like confessing and just be frank about it. I’m a person who hates to keep things to myself.
Every day, I constantly think of her. At times, I try to ignore that thought but it will never go away. Every guy would always say this, I will find that ONE. This year, my heart says I have found that ONE. However, it is going one sided. Some of my friends have told me to ignore her. How am I supposed to do that? She is written on my heart already. I cannot take that ink away. If it happens, the consequences would be dire. Even though, I have already lost hope on her but I can’t seem to find other girls enticing. She certainly has written something deep in heart that it cannot be taken away. She might not realize it but man, it has impacted me.
In my mind, I might be an insane writing this. My heart though says write this. This essay will constantly remind me of the cruelty of life. Sometimes you can’t seem to get the thing that we treasure the most. You can call me an emo freak or emotional induced human but this is the fact. I’m sure there are many guys out there who have the same thoughts as me. They just express it in different ways.
I’m just hoping that time will heal things and make me a better person. I used to be the happy go lucky guy who loves to entertain and joke around. The tide has changed. I’m certainly a changed person. Life can be very damning!
Bangkok – 2nd time is always a charm.
Sex heaven, language barrier and high crime rate, ditch these things and you will certainly say Bangkok is an enticing city. I had a blast in Thailand and I’m certainly coming back again. At first, I wasn’t happy because I had no intention of going Bangkok.
However, I have to thank my mum for tagging me along for this trip. Basically, things were good and I even shortlisted Bangkok as my base to establish my career as a journalist. City life is bustling in Bangkok. Those days, people had the notion that Thai people are rural and will not catch up with city life. You know what, Thai people proved us wrong. I have so many good things to say about this city. From the food to girls, everything was plain awesome.
The girls were just awesome! Not the prostitutes but the normal Thai citizens. Even not so good looking man can have a beautiful girl. There is abundance of good looking girls! I just don’t know why, every Thai girl attracted me. They even outclassed the foreign tourist who visited Bangkok. This might sound desperate but if I had the opportunity to marry a Thai girl, I might grab it!
The food – Ohh laa laa! It was perfect. When you say Thai food, people would refer to Tom Yam and Mango Salad. They have many other dishes which I consider masterpiece. Green curry, Som Tam, Cashew Nut and the roadside grilled chicken are items which can make you drool. Though Thai people consume lots of pork, but the other meat based items are good too. One item which caught my attention was the coconut ice cream. It was the boom! I’ve never tasted such creamy and sweet ice cream. The texture of the coconut makes it even better.
Bangkok certainly offers a wide array of variety. It’s a bustling metropolitan with a reputation of being notorious but fun at the same time. Who cares about the protest happening between the certain factions! Ditch that crap and experience the life of Thai people in Bangkok. One thing which I like to emphasise is the advertising sector in Thailand.
Advertising wannabes in Malaysia, Thailand is certainly a place to look forward! Creative and catchy, that sums up the advertising industry in Thailand. The advertisements, whether it is on television or billboard, they were awesome! We just have to salute these guys!! We can learn a thing or two from them!
The shopping!!! Mann, I’m a dude and I called this place as shopping heaven. I purchased some cloths from here!!! Mann, they are cheap!!! Those who really want to shop please do come to Bangkok. Places like Cha Tu Chak and MBK are places to look up to. Even the toiletries are cheap here.
One thing is for sure, I’m coming back to this place again! I certainly enjoyed the company of my family and Uncle Pong’s family.

As you may see from the definition, this is certainly a phenomenon that is spreading it's wings. Many people are frightened by the term paranormal. I've never experienced this kind of situations before and i don't want to experience it at all.. Luckily there was GOD! He has guided me and also protected me! Hail GOD! =)
